Who is Tammy Tadd?
Believe it or not, some people think that Tammy Tadd is a fictitious character, and we just made the name up!! Not true! I just happened to marry a wonderful man who gave me a great last name!
My husband Gary (or as he affectionately refers to himself; Mr. Tammy Tadd) and I have been married for nearly 12 years and together have 5 beautiful children; Olivia –24, Stephanie – 22, Nick –21, Haley –11, and Garrison –9. We have a blended family of his, mine and ours.
I began my pattern design company nearly 8 years ago, in my basement. I found that a lot of the quilt patterns and books that I was looking at were not done well. Either the instructions were not clearly written, or the illustrations were done really poorly. And some were actually riddled with errors. I decided after discussing this with my mother, Velda (a 30 plus years, quilting veteran), that with her help, I could design and publish quilt patterns that were better than most of the ones on the market at that time. I don’t mean that to sound “superior” but after all, that is why most of us go into business in the first place. We see a need and decide to fill that need, right? Well that’s what I endeavor to do with my business, to produce high quality, well written, and appealing quilt patterns and books.
Now, having said that, I will have to admit that I haven’t ALWAYS been extremely happy with every pattern, and every book. Once in a while we have an error, hard as we try! And I know it’s inevitable and happens to everyone, but I don’t like it! And I have, in the past, with a publishing company, not had a final edit on one of my books, which turned out to not be a good idea (I won’t make that mistake again). But that’s a strong motivator to work even harder, so that I know that if I were the purchaser of this book or pattern, I would be more than happy with it!
So, that’s enough about me! I’m already losing my own attention! My hope is that you will enjoy my blog and feel like you are entertained and informed at least occasionally. I will try not to bore you!
